If you make Powerpoint presentations as part of your job, you need to stop and look at
SmartSound for Multimedia. This music editing system can have you creating snappy and
professional soundtracks and background music within minutes, and you don't have to be a
musician or read a note of music to do so.
SmartSound was created for the average Joe
without a thread of musical talent or ability -- like me. You can even be tone deaf. Using
a wizard-like interface called Sound Maestro, you select and preview musical clips and
arrange them any way you want. Thus, even a novice like me can create an elegant and
moving soundtrack to cover the transitions between slides or to help move my audience to
buy from me -- all with touches of great music in the right places.
It's so easy. You can select music by genre or even sound effects if desired. Then you
select the length of the piece to be created: anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes is
recommended, but custom lengths are easily accomodated. Then you select a style -- a
mood to insure your tone is right for your audience and message. Then you select the
source from the CD provided, preview your selection, and save it to disk. Then it's just a
question of inserting your music into your Powerpoint slide show in the most appropriate
place, and away you go to make your best presentation ever. Be careful, though. You are
liable to have too much fun with this system and create an unGodly huge music file.
Now if you do have some musical talent, you can use the included Editor and Sequence
Window to rearrange bars of music to create your own carefully crafted composition. In
either case, you can decrease the development time using SmartSound for Multimedia.
Attempting to do the same thing from scratch within a recording studio or with a
full-blown MIDI system would take forever and cost a fortune in time and money.
No one can dispute the power of music to move audiences. Whether you want to make them
smile, relax or to build tension, SmartSound can help you achieve your goal quickly and
economically. And if you like what you hear on the included CD, there are additional CDs
with other types of music available.
A word of warning, though, SmartSound is to musical creation as desktop publishing and
font libraries is to printed creation. In the hands of a technical show-off, desktop
publishing and font libraries can result in totally ridiculous creations filled with too
many color and fonts. So, too, can SmartSound with music.
This package is fun to work with, and you will enjoy playing with it as you experiment
with musical creation. Just don't mix Mozart with Latin music, unless you are trying to
sell to a classy campaign to Taco Bueno. Yo quiero SmartSound
for Multimedia. You should, too.
