It's said that there is a tool for every job. In some cases, these tools
look alike -- for instance, hammers come in many shapes, weights and sizes,
and each of these has a different purpose. So a carpenter carries many hammers
so he can perform his job.
Image capture utilities also come in many flavors, and from my perspective,
you can never have enough of them because sometimes even your favorite tool
lacks that one critical feature that you need at that particular moment. As a
webmaster and graphics designer, you should have a selection of these tools,
too.
Capture Express
2000 is not just another image capture tool. It offers the user
flexibility not commonly found in other products. Chief among these features
is the ability to resize the captured area prior to cutting and saving it. At
first glance this may not seem like that big a deal, but it is, I can assure
you. I capture many screen shots and graphics daily for our web reviews, and
it can get very frustrating when you repeatedly blow it. Misalignments,
aborted captures, all take up valuable time, but Capture
Express 2000 enables you to reposition the selected area prior to
capture. A great feature.

Another fantastic feature is the ability to capture different shaped areas
of a screen and to mask these in any color desired. For instance, for the two
captures below, I chose the star capture mode (and yes, you can configure the
number of points in the star), and used black and white masks with black
borders respectively. Tres cool, no?

You can configure this tool in many ways including selecting
the hotkey to launch the tool and image disposition (print, email, etc.).
All in all, Capture
Express 2000 offers some features not found in similar tools and at
only $15.00 it is a bargain. Download a free trial here.
