e-Picture Pro FAQ
Q.
How can I get help from a real person?
A.
Just send email to support@beatware.com
describing your issue in as much detail as possible.
Please include the product name and version, your operating system version,
whether you are a commercial or trialware user, etc.
Q.
When I start e-Picture Pro, it is asks me for a registration number,
but I cannot find the registration number. What can I do?
A.
The registration number is available in the email confirmation for
your ESD purchase, or on two cards that came with your e-Picture
Pro 2.0 box. One card says KEEP FOR YOUR RECORDS and the other card
is the Registration card you send to us. Sometimes, these cards are
hidden in the manual.
Q.
What file formats can I use in the e-Picture Imager in FrontPage?
A.
The e-Picture Imager uses the saved (vs. exported) versions of
e-Picture Pro 3.0 files. These are typically files that have a
".ep" extension (i.e. myfile.ep).
Q.
How do I use the e-Picture Imager?
A.
This is described in several places including the e-Picture Pro
user manual. For a concise description of how to use e-Picture Pro
files in the e-Picture Imager, check out the
e-Picture Imager in a Nutshell document.
Q.
How do I customize graphics using the e-Picture Imager?
A.
The e-Picture Imager customization dialog is opened by double-clicking
on the e-Picture Imager graphic that you want to edit. Note that only
graphics added via the e-Picture Imager can be edited by the e-Picture
Imager. Other graphics (i.e. GIF and JPEG files) can only be manipulated
in simple ways by the built in FrontPage image editor.
Q.
Can I change an e-Picture Imager template (original graphic)?
A.
Yes. Simply double-click on the template file located in the
e-Picture_Templates folder within the FrontPage Folders List.
Any time you change a template, the changes you make to the
template are reflected in any e-Picture Imager graphics that
was created from that template. Any customizations you have
made to the e-Picture Imager graphics are retained and are
applied on top of any template changes you make (you will have
to reload the pages within FrontPage).
Q.
What if I want to make drastic changes to my template, like
replacing one object with another (say, a rectangle with a circle).
Will I have to redo everything?
A.
No, you should be OK. Within a template, you can literally delete
one graphic element and replace it with another - as long as you
give the replacement element the EXACT same name as the original.
For example, if you have a button background rectangle named
"my background" and you want to replace it with an ellipse,
you can delete the rectangle and replace it with an ellipse
with the name "my background" and all of your graphics should
switch to this new background automatically (you will have to
reload the pages within FrontPage). Any customizations you might
have made will remain in the new images.
Q.
Can e-Picture Pro files be used in Dreamweaver and GoLive?
A.
Yes. e-Picture Pro exports to all popular web graphics formats
including GIF, animated GIF, JPEG, PNG, Flash and others.
Q.
I am running into problems when I import Illustrator 9 or
Photoshop 6 files in e-Picture Pro. What can I do?
A.
Since both Illustrator 9 and Photoshop 6 were both released
after e-Picture Pro, certain new features are not compatible
with e-Picture Pro. You should save your files in Photoshop 5.5
or Illustrator 8 file formats to have full compatibility
with e-Picture Pro.
Q.
Does e-Picture Pro export to SVG?
A.
Not at the moment. Because the W3C took so long to stabilize
the SVG standard, we are late in getting out a revision with
this functionality. However, we do have active engineering
work being done and expect to have SVG export available
in the near future.
Q.
Only 3/4 of the Inspector and Alignment panels are visible
and I have tried several different ways to enlarge it to
see the entire panel. How can I view the entire panel?
A.
This problem is solved by changing your system fonts from
Large to Small. To change them, go to: Settings-->
Control Panel-->Display-->Settings-->Advanced and change
the font size to Small Fonts. You will have to restart
the computer for the change to take affect.
Q.
I tried to download the trialware version from your website,
but I was disconnected each time. How can I download the
trialware without being disconnected?
A.
If you are having difficulties downloading our trialware
software, you should simply attempt to download at a
later time of the day. You can also try to download the
trialware from download.com,
windowstracker.com
(windows only), tucows.com
(mac only), and versiontracker.com
(mac only).
Q.
I downloaded the latest update, but it does not work.
What am I doing wrong?
A.
It is possible that you already have the latest version
of the software. Another reason why it may not work is
because you downloaded the wrong update. Be sure to
select the correct update (PC or Mac) before downloading
the update.

or faster; Windows 98, ME, NT 4, 2000 or XP; 64MB RAM
