Developer Library: Storage Kit

The Storage Kit is an interface to the file system. The BeOS recognizes more than one file system architecture. These architectures are abstracted by the kernel aso that each distinct architecture looks the same to the Storage Kit. Some architectures are more powerful than others, but the fundamental concept of hierarchically organized files and directories is enforced at the kernel level.
