Why can't I set my screen to 16-bit color? I can do it under Windows (or the Mac OS)...

Not every BeOS graphics driver supports 16-bit color. If you have a graphics card for which the driver only supports 8-bit and 32-bit color, the 16-bit option will remain grayed out in the Screen preferences application, no matter what resolution you set it to.
