PowerMovie FAQ
Q.
What happened to
PowerMovie? It used to be
listed in the Products section
of the web site.
A.
PowerMovie has been removed
from the Products section
of the web site because it
has not been updated in a
while. We do not wish to have
clients misled into believing
that a new version is forthcoming
in the near future or that
currently unsupported platforms
such as Windows XP and PowerPoint
XP are available.
Q.
Does PowerMovie work
with PowerPoint XP?
A.
Currently, PowerMovie will
not work with PowerPoint XP,
but we would like to remedy
this situation in the future.
Q.
I am unable to install PowerMovie
on my computer. What can I
do?
A.
In order for PowerMovie to
install on your computer,
you must have PowerPoint 97
or PowerPoint 2000 installed
on your computer. If you meet
this criteria and are still
having trouble, please contact
support@beatware.com.
Q.
Is PowerMovie available for
the Macintosh?
A.
Currently, there are no plans
to release a Macintosh version
of PowerMovie.
Q.
When I start PowerMovie, it
is asks me for a registration
number, but I cannot find
the registration number. What
can I do?
A.
The registration number is
available on two cards that
came with your e-Picture Pro
box. One card says KEEP FOR
YOUR RECORDS and the other
card is the Registration card
you send to us. Sometimes,
these cards are hidden in
the manual. If you ordered
e-Picture Pro online, the
registration number should
be given to you after you
have placed your order on
the web site.
Q.
I installed PowerMovie, but
PowerMovie does not appear
in the PowerPoint Insert menu.
How can I fix this?
A.
The first thing you want to
do is uninstall and reinstall
PowerMovie. If this does not
solve the problem, you can
open PowerMovie as a stand
alone application by going
to your PowerMovie folder
(default install location
should be C driveàProgram
Files) and launch the PowerMovie.exe
file. You should also create
a shortcut to the PowerMovie.exe
on your desktop for easy access.
Q.
Does PowerMovie work with
PowerPoint XP?
A.
Currently, PowerMovie will
not work with PowerPoint XP,
but we are working on the
upgrade that will fix the
PowerPoint XP issue. The upgrade
should be available soon on
our website.
Q.
I am unable to export to Animated
Gif. Why is this?
A.
This is an issue with the
different versions of PowerPoint.
PowerPoint 97 will only allow
you to export to bmp and AVI.
PowerPoint 2000 will allow
you to export to bmp, AVI,
and Animated Gif.
Q.
When I open my PowerPoint
presentation, none of the
PowerMovie videos appear.
What did I do wrong?
A.
If you move the location of
any of the videos created
by PowerMovie or if you move
the PowerPoint presention
itself, PowerPoint will not
be able to find the movies
when you open the presentation.
For example, if you initially
saved your movies and presention
in a folder called Show, and
then moved one of the movie
files to the desktop, that
particular movie file will
not appear when you open the
presentaion. You must keep
all files in the same location.
When saving files (including
the presentation), you should
place them all in one folder
and keep them there. If you
want to move the presentation
to a different computer, be
sure to move the entire folder,
not just the PowerPoint presentation.
Q.
When I try to run PowerMovie,
I receive the error ws2_32.dll.
What can I do?
A.
If you receive the ws2_32.dll
error, that means you are
trying to run PowerMovie on
Windows 95. PowerMovie will
only run on Windows 98, ME,
NT, or 2000 with Powerpoint
97 or PowerPoint 2000.
Q.
What are the system
requirements?
A.
The system requirements are
PowerPoint 97 or 2000; Pentium
200 MHz or faster; Windows
98, ME, NT or 2000; 32MB RAM
or greater; 40 MB free hard
disk space; and 800x600 monitor
resolution or better. (note:
A CD-ROM drive is required
for the CD version).
