It keeps rebooting

Situation:

The BeOS boot floppy starts booting and gets to the part about "Uncompreessing the BeOS boot loader" and promptly reboots.

Resolution:

This is because of your original Cyrix 6x86 (non-MX) processor. The only non-Intel processors the BeOS supports at this time are the Cyrix 6x86 MX and M2, K6 and K6-2, and the IDT WinChip C6. Supported motherboard chipsets are on the ready list. When the processor or chipset returns information the BeOS does not expect, the system reboots. Please visit our BeOS Ready List to see what other processors the BeOS supports.

You may be able to upgrade your processor to make your system compatible.
