Description:
This program handles incoming calls. To use all the features, you will need a ZyXEL, USRobotics or Rockwell based voice modem. With a voice modem, you can collect CallerID information, answer incoming voice calls, play a greeting and record a message from your caller. Plus, the modem will detect an incoming fax call or can switch to data mode to allow people to dial into your machine. With a fax class 2.0 modem you can receive incoming faxes and display them on your screen. You can print them on any printer you have a device driver for or save individual pages as bitmaps using a Translator. Although BePhoney may work with a class 2 fax modem, it is not fully supported at this time and seems to not work in my testing. Class 2.0 does seem to work however. With only a data modem, you can use this program to dial into your machine and log in from a remote location. Version 1.7.2 fixes a number of bugs, most notably a bug which caused BePhoney to not work correctly with USR 56k voice modems. If you have one of these and have had problems in the past, give it a shot now. Mirror Download Sites:
