Description:
LPMud is a popular variant of the MUD games, the multi-user network adventure games and other text-based applications. The gamedriver implements a text-based world in which players can interact with each other and the simulated world. The description and behaviour of the world is defined by the 'mudlib', a (huge) set of programs written in the gamedriver's internal programming language (a C variant). Main authors of LPMud are Lars Pensjoe and (currently) Joern Rennecke, but many others have contributed to the driver as well. This release is a quick rehost of Amylaar's LPMud gamedriver, version 3.2.1 patchlevel 141 (plus some compatible extensions from the mud OSB). The archive contains the executable (compiled for cross- compat mode with euids), documentation, and the diff-files needed to be-ify the original source distribution. It does not contain a mudlib! The archive also does not contain the actual driver sources, which are available on ftp://quest.nightfall.org/amylaar/ (original driver source) and ftp://osb.mud.de/pub:4243/driver/ (OSB version of the driver, includes Be patches). To recompile the driver, you need the full driver sources, the byacc parser generator, and the full version of Codewarrior. I am now working on 'LDMud', a slow-burn project to clean up and improve this gamedriver. For more information see <http://www.bearnip.com/lars/proj/ldmud.html>.
