Gobe Software Announces Hitachi Prius Bundle
Gobe Productive - Powerful Integrated Office Software for the BeOS®

Portland, OR (Nov 11, 1998) -- Gobe Software, Inc. today announced that Gobe Productive, its powerful office application for the Be Operating System (BeOS) will be bundled with Hitachi's "Flora Prius" line of computers starting in December.

The Hitachi "Flora Prius" line consists of desktop and notebook computers based on the Intel Pentium II CPU. The desktop computers come with flat panel LCD monitors, and in one model the CPU and monitor are integrated into one unit.

"We set out to create an extremely powerful "office" technology that takes advantage of the power of the BeOS," said Bruce Q. Hammond, Gobe's Vice President of Marketing. "This set of productivity tools is a perfect compliment to the multimedia rich BeOS system. Gobe Productive shows the extraordinary power of the Hitachi Flora Prius computers, and we are expecting this to generate a lot of excitement."

Gobe Productive is an extensible "office" system. This next-generation productivity software combines a suite of powerful but easy-to-use tools, including:

Word Processing - a tightly integrated word processor with style sheets, discontinuous selections and spell checking.

Spreadsheet - a high-powered spreadsheet providing over 100 built-in functions, links between spreadsheet frames, named ranges, and discontinuous selections. Graphics - provides a full suite of draw tools, gradients, pens, and textures. Charting - create pie, bar, and line charts. Zoom through 3D charts. Presentation - create a powerful slide show using any combination of Gobe Productive parts.

All of these Gobe Productive parts can be mixed together in any combination in one document, allowing almost unlimited content creation power for the user. These parts also share many of the same formatting functions, so learning how to use one part makes users more productive in all the others.
