CINEMA 4D® goes BeOS®
Complete Port to Be Platform

Friedrichsdorf, Germany - November 9, 1998 -- MAXON announced that it is finalizing the port of the award-winning 3D modeling, raytracing and animation software CINEMA 4D to the BeOS. All future products shall also be released for BeOS.

CINEMA 4D is a completely object-oriented 32-bit optimized 3D modeling, animation and raytracing package, available for Windows 95/NT, Power Macintosh and Alpha NT. Thanks to its modern and revolutionary architecture, it is a fully multi-threaded application with highly effective multi-processing support (370% speed increase on a four processor machine). CINEMA 4D has already established new performance and speed records both in the work environment and when rendering. And, it is extremely powerful - handling extensive scenes with millions of polygons with ease even on an average system.

"For a multiplatform application like CINEMA 4D BeOS is a must - especially in the animation and video sector" said product manager Michael Giebel. "BeOS is a modern operating system; object-oriented and with complete multithreading and multiprocessing support. CINEMA 4D and BeOS represent a perfect symbiosis."

"MAXON is an expert in the multithreading technology," says Christophe Droulers, Director Developer Relations Europe, "moving to the BeOS was a natural step for their award winning product."

The BeOS will be shown at Comdex Fall in Las Vegas, November 16 through 20 on Be, Incorporated's booth (S7114).

###

About MAXON: MAXON Computer - located in Friedrichsdorf near Frankfurt (Germany) - was founded 1986 and is managed by Uwe Baertels, Harald Egel and Harald Schneider. After a long time of successful hardware and software development on several computer systems, MAXON Computer released a completely new and re-programmed version of the high-end raytracer CINEMA 4D for modern computer platforms in the year 1996. This exceptional new software was built from scratch and therefore had a lot of advantages concerning the technology, speed and useability. CINEMA 4D soon became a shooting star among available 3D packages. Motivated by this success, MAXON Computer focussed its future development on this powerful and exciting product and built up a product family based on CINEMA 4D. Currently MAXON Computer is developing three different versions of CINEMA 4D (called "GO", "SE" and "XL") which are available worldwide. Other related products are planned or in development. The customers and business associates like working with MAXON Computer because of the fast development times, the extensive support and the general reliability.
