BEATWARE TO RELEASE FIRST PRODUCTIVITY SUITE FOR THE BEOS

Menlo Park, California --August 4, 1997 -- BeatWare Inc. announced today that Be Basics, the first productivity suite created specifically for the BeOS, will make its public debut at MacWorld Boston in August.

Be Basics provides word processor and spreadsheet users with an alternative to the bloated, cumbersome suites currently on the market. "We've cut the fat out of software," said Karen Cassel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BeatWare, Inc. "Be Basics provides you with the features you need to get the job done quickly. Period."

The entire suite requires less than 1.5 megabytes of hard drive space and outperformed the market leaders during tests for speed and responsiveness.

In addition to its unparalleled speed, Be Basics provides users with additional capabilities to make them more efficient. These include the ability to drag and drop pictures and images directly into any document, automatic text reflow and live image updating.

Be Basics will sell for an introductory price of $69 and will be available both on CD-ROM and via electronic download from BeatWare at www.beatware.com.
